9-7-18 Fishing Report

We have a cloudy morning this Friday with highs in the mid-70's with no rain until early next week.  Stilesville on the upper West Branch is holding at 1100 cfs and 52 degrees and downriver at Hale Eddy we have 1280 cfs and 58 degrees.  The upper East Branch at Harvard is now 606 cfs and 47 degrees and downriver at Fishs' Eddy we have 1100 cfs and 58 degrees.  The mainstem at Lordville is 2580 cfs and 62 degrees.  Yesterday we had some pretty hard rain most of the afternoon which didn't help the bugs much.  We've had pretty good fishing the last few weeks with pretty consistent water flows and bugs with small Blue Winged Olives in the #18-22 range and #10-12 Isonychia.  Ants and beetles are always good flies this time of year too.   The West is running stained from the release from Cannonsville which is not unusual this time of year and hopefully it doesn't last too long, although it does help the streamer fishing a bit.   We should have pretty consistent flows for a while after they have lowered the reservoir a bit.  Lotsa' Luck
