9-4-18 Fishing Resport

We have some good cloud cover to start the day with clouds most of the day but lightening up a bit as the day goes on.  The water is still slowly dropping as we've been dry for the last couple of weeks.  The release coming out of Cannonsville has been decreasing by a small amount daily and is currently 1100 cfs and 50 degrees.  Downriver at Hale Eddy we have 1270 cfs and 52 degrees.  At the current levels there isn't too much wading on the West Branch but for those who know the river well there is some wading in select spots.  The upper East Branch at Harvard is running 606 cfs and 48 degrees which is going to offer some wading and great temps for early September.  The lower East Branch at Fishs' Eddy is now at 1040 cfs and 58 degrees.  The mainstem down at Lordville is running 2280 cfs and 60 degrees.  The bugs have been pretty good for this time of year with consistent Blue Winged Olives throughout the afternoon.  A few Isonychia and Cahills are also around and the fish are definitely looking up.  The streamer fishing is still an option but has definitely slowed as the water has cleared and the fish have definitely seen a lot of streamers lately.  Lotsa' Luck
