9-22-18 Fishing Report

Today is starting out nice and cool with some sunshine after some pretty heavy rain last night that only lasted a couple hours but did hit the rivers pretty hard. The upper West Branch at Stilesville is running 700 cfs after they have lowered the release to 695 cfs and is now 60 degrees. There will be some wade fishing at these levels down to Oquaga creek which is running pretty dirty right now. The river has crested and is dropping at a steady rate and down at Hale Eddy we currently have 2520 cfs and 62 degrees, currently with very little visibility. The East Branch got hit pretty good as well and up at Harvard we now have 1550 cfs and 51 degrees, up about 500 since the rain. Downriver at Fishs’ Eddy on the East we have 3550 cfs and 56 degrees and 1700 cfs of that is coming from the Beaverkill. The mainstem at Lordville is running 5320 cfs and 59 degrees, up about 1500 cfs so far and is still rising at 300 cfs/hour. With the West Branch dropping it is going to be your best bet if you have access to a boat today and we should likely have a few feet of visibility by this afternoon. It looks to be pretty clear this weekend with some possible rain Tuesday. Lotsa’ Luck
