9-2-18 Fishing Report

We have another sunny day today to finish up the weekend with nice temps to start the day and highs in the low 80's.  The release on the West Branch came down a bit more with a current flow of 1270 cfs and 50 degrees today and down at Hale Eddy we have 1510 cfs and 52 degrees.  Although a bit high the water on the West has been very clear for the last two weeks and there are a few spots that we can wade now if you know the river and don't mind the higher water.  The upper East Branch at Stilesville is now 750 cfs and 48 degrees and down at Fishs' Eddy we have 1230 cfs and 59 degrees.  The mainstem at Lordville is 2700 cfs and 59 degrees.  Temps have been very good the last few weeks throughout the system and we have lots of water to choose from.  The bugs have been decent, mostly in the afternoon hours with good Blue Winged Olive weather the last few days.  Isonychia in the #10-12 range have been working well too and are always great blind-casting flies.  Winged ants in the 20-22 range have been around and terrestrials are always great late-summer bugs to pack.  We are still seeing some #14-16 Cahills as well.  The conditions are still pretty good for throwing streamers, especially with the overcast skies we've been getting.  Lotsa' Luck
