9-16-18 Fishing Report

Some cloud cover is around this morning with a nice fog over the river with skies clearing later today with highs in the low 80’s. Yesterday was very clear and sunny and was a little slower than most days this week with cloud cover and off and on rain most of the time. The rivers have been dropping the last couple days and the upper West Branch at Stilesville is back to 1450 cfs and 58 degrees and down at Hale Eddy we are looking at 1900 cfs and 59 degrees. The West is still running with a decent amount of stain to the water which won’t put off the bugs or surface activity and will actually help the streamer fishing a bit. The East Branch is clear and running 883 cfs and 50 degrees this morning and down at Fishs’ Eddy we have 1870 cfs and 58 degrees. Wading is still going to be very tough to non-existent for a while with these flows, although angler who know the rivers well can still get into a few spots you’re just very limited to those small sections of water. The West was a little slow yesterday but the mainstem fished ok for some with some decent bugs lately. Bugs won’t change much for the rest of the month with decent Blue Winged Olives and a few Isonychia mixed in as well. Looks like some rain mid-week so we will have to wait and see how much we get out of that storm for the rest of the week. Lotsa’ Luck
