8-18-19 Fishing Report

We did get a decent amount of rain last night and the West Branch rose a few thousand cfs but has dropped over a thousand cfs since it crested but still has a good stain this morning.  On the positive side it looks like the upcoming forecast is dry with a bit of possible rain on Tuesday.  The West Branch up at Stilesville is holding steady at 1510 cfs and 44 degrees and is going to be the only option for some wading looking at the next few weeks.  Down at Hale Eddy we have 3340 cfs and dropping at 55 degrees with a good stain to the water.  The upper East at Harvard is now 3990 cfs and 67 degrees and after the Beaverkill at Fishs' Eddy it's flowing 8100 cfs.  The mainstem at Lordville is 12,000 cfs and 64 degrees.  The West Branch is still the only game in town and the water is pretty clear above Oquaga creek which comes in at the top of the no-kill section of the river in Deposit.  It's going to be mostly streamer fishing but there have been a few fish rising in the higher water.  The West currently has a pretty good stain going on but will clear as the day goes on and will be in great shape for the upcoming week if you have access to a boat.  Lotsa' Luck
