10-5-18 Fishing Report

Today is starting out nice and sunny with a good forecast the next few days with no rain in the immediate forecast. We did get a bit of rain yesterday, mid-day for a few hours, which brought the rivers up slightly but they are all still fishable and are in pretty good shape. The upper West Branch at Stilesville is running 1490 cfs and 61 degrees and downriver at Hale Eddy we have 2420 cfs and 59 degrees. There is, and there will be for a while, a pretty good stain to the West Branch coming out of the reservoir with enough visibility to make the streamer fishing very productive still with a chance for some bugs in the afternoon. The East Branch has been clearer and has been fishing well too with good streamer fishing and some bugs and fish on top in the afternoon hours with some Blue Winged Olives, some caddis and Isonychia. The upper East Branch at Harvard is running 1140 cfs and 49 degrees and down at Fishs’ Eddy we have 2520 cfs and 53 degrees. The mainstem is running 5830 cfs and 56 degrees and is clearer than the West Branch, especially as you mover downriver with some bugs and surface activity in the afternoons as well. It looks like a great forecast with no rain on the horizon until late next week. Lotsa’ Luck
